Steps to cook

Prepare the ingredients. This is what you'll find on the plate – braised chicken thighs on onions with caraway and boiled potatoes, prepare the ingredients in advance so the work goes smoothly 🍗🥔🔥 Preheat the oven to 180 °C.

Dice the onion. Cut the onion into small cubes.

Season the chicken. Salt and pepper the chicken thighs and thoroughly sprinkle with caraway.

Brown the chicken. In a pot or roasting pan heat a little oil and brown the chicken thighs on all sides until golden, then remove them and set aside.

Sauté the onion. To the same pot add a piece of butter and the onion and sauté over medium heat until golden.

Transfer to roasting pan. Return the chicken, pour in about 200 ml of water, cover with a lid and place in the oven.

Braise the chicken. Cover with a lid or foil and braise at 180 °C for about 40-45 minutes, until the meat is tender.

Prepare the potatoes. Peel the potatoes and cut into quarters.

Cook the potatoes. Place them in salted water and cook for about 15 minutes, until tender.

Serve. Serve the chicken thighs with the onion base and boiled potatoes 🍽️✨
