Steps to cook
-
Prepare the ingredients. Prepare all the ingredients - we will be cooking with them in a moment 👩🍳✨
-
Cook the rice. Cook the rice in twice the amount of salted water under a lid for about 10-15 minutes - bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to minimum and let it finish cooking until the water is absorbed.
-
Slice the garlic. Slice the garlic into thin slices.
-
Cut the chicken. Cut the chicken into larger pieces.
-
Coat the chicken. Coat the chicken first in the beaten egg and then coat it on all sides in cornstarch.
-
Fry the chicken. In a deep skillet or wok, heat the oil over medium-high heat and fry the chicken until golden and crispy on all sides, about 4-5 minutes, then remove it.
-
Saute the garlic. Add the garlic to the same pan and briefly saute over medium heat for about 1 minute to release its aroma.
-
Prepare the sauce. Add the soy sauce, sugar, ketchup, and a little water and cook over medium heat for about 2 minutes to form a glossy sauce.
-
Combine with the chicken. Return the chicken to the pan, add the sesame seeds, and mix everything together so the meat is evenly coated with the sauce.
-
Serve. Serve with rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds 🍽️✨
