Steps to cook
-
Prepare the ingredients. Prepare all the ingredients - we will cook with them in a moment 🥔✨
-
Cook the potatoes. Peel the potatoes, cut them into smaller pieces, and cook in salted water over medium heat for about 15 minutes until tender.
-
Cut the bacon. Cut the bacon or pork fat into small cubes.
-
Fry the bacon. Slowly fry the bacon cubes in a pan over medium heat for about 5 minutes, until they render their fat and turn golden and crisp.
-
Prepare the potato dough. Drain the cooked potatoes, mash or press them through a sieve, and while still hot mix with the flour, then let them steam under a lid for about 5 minutes.
-
Add the cabbage and shape the škubánky. Add the squeezed cabbage to the potatoes, mix, and shape into dumplings or other shapes.
-
Fry the škubánky. Set the rendered cracklings aside and fry the škubánky in the rendered fat over medium heat until golden, about 3-4 minutes.
-
Serve. Serve with cracklings and a spoonful of sour cream 🍽️✨
