Steps to cook
-
Prepare the ingredients. This is what you will have on the plate - crispy fried feta with honey and sesame seeds 🧀🍯 Prepare all the ingredients in advance so everything goes quickly and without delays.
-
Slice the feta. Cut the feta into slices about 1 cm thick. If it is too soft, you can briefly chill it in the refrigerator before slicing so it holds its shape better.
-
Coat in flour. Coat the feta slices on all sides with plain flour.
-
Dip in ice water. Prepare a bowl of ice water. Briefly dip the coated feta into the ice water, then coat it again in flour. For a firmer crust, you can repeat the process once more (water -> flour).
-
Fry in a pan. Heat a thicker layer of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Carefully transfer the feta slices to the pan and fry until golden on both sides, about 1-2 minutes per side. Remove the finished feta onto a paper towel to absorb excess fat.
-
Serve. Serve immediately with salad, drizzled with honey, sprinkled with sesame seeds, and with a piece of lemon for seasoning 🍋✨
