Steps to cook
-
Prepare the ingredients. This is what will be on your plate — prepare the ingredients in advance so the work goes smoothly 🍝🥓
-
Boil the water and slice the bacon. Place a pot of water for the gnocchi on the stove and bring it to a boil. Slice the bacon into strips.
-
Sauté the bacon. In a pan over medium heat, melt a small amount of butter, add the bacon and sauté for about 2 minutes until it starts to brown. Then add the garlic and sauté for another about 2 minutes until fragrant.
-
Cook the gnocchi. Once the water in the pot is boiling, salt it and add the gnocchi. When they float to the surface, cook them for approximately 2 more minutes.
-
Prepare the sauce. Add the peas, lemon zest and lemon juice to the pan. Season with salt and pepper and add a small ladleful of the gnocchi cooking water per portion.
-
Add the gnocchi. Drain the gnocchi and transfer them to the pan. Mix everything thoroughly so the gnocchi are coated with the sauce.
-
Divide the dish among plates. Divide the finished dish among plates, sprinkle with grated cheese, optionally add torn mint and finish with more pepper to taste.
-
Serve. Serve immediately 🧀🌿✨
