Steps to cook
-
Prepare the ingredients. Prepare all the ingredients – we'll be cooking with them in a moment. 👩🍳✨ Preheat the oven to 180°C.
-
Spread the tomato paste on the dough. Roll out the dough on a floured work surface and gently stretch it. Spread with tomato paste. Leave a 1-2 cm border uncoated.
-
Sprinkle with oregano. Sprinkle evenly with oregano.
-
Arrange the ham. Arrange slices of ham on the tomato paste, side by side, to cover the entire surface except for the edges.
-
Arrange the cheese. Evenly lay slices of cheese over the ham slices.
-
Roll up the dough. Roll the dough into a log and let it rest in the refrigerator.
-
Slice the roll. Cut the log into evenly sized slices and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Brush with egg and bake. Brush the slices with beaten egg. This will give them a golden, crispy crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden.
-
Serve. Serve. 😋🍽️ You can serve them warm or cold. Ideally, however, on the same day they were baked.
