Steps to cook
-
Prepare the ingredients. This is what will be on your plate – homemade potato dumplings, fluffy and ideal as a side for sauces or meat; prepare the ingredients in advance so the work proceeds smoothly.
-
Cook the potatoes. Place the potatoes in their skins into salted water, bring to a boil and simmer over low to medium heat for about 35-40 minutes, until tender.
-
Prepare the potatoes. While still warm, peel the cooked potatoes and finely grate them into a bowl.
-
Add the eggs. Add the eggs and salt and mix to combine the ingredients.
-
Work the dough. Add the flour and quickly work the dough so it does not become too loose.
-
Shape the dumplings. Form two dumplings from the dough and lightly flour them.
-
Cook the dumplings. Place them into boiling salted water, loosen from the bottom and cook until they float. Then cook for another 10-15 minutes with the lid on over low heat.
-
Serve. Remove the dumplings from the water, slice and serve.
