Steps to cook

7 steps · 20 min cook
  1. Prepare the ingredients. This is what you'll have on the plate – juicy pork neck with mushroom sauce and boiled potatoes 🥔🥩 Prepare your ingredients in advance so the work goes smoothly.

  2. Cook the potatoes. Place the potatoes in cold salted water and bring to a boil. Then reduce to a gentle simmer, cover, and cook for about 20 minutes until tender. If the potatoes are large, cut them in half or into quarters so they cook evenly.

  3. Sear the pork neck. Salt and pepper the pork neck slice on both sides, brush with vegetable oil and place on a hot pan. Sear over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden. Then remove the meat, loosely cover, and let rest for a few minutes.

  4. Chop the vegetables. While the meat is searing, slice the onion, garlic and mushrooms into strips.

  5. Sauté the base. Add the onion to the pan with the meat juices and sauté over medium heat for about 2 minutes until translucent. Then add the garlic and mushrooms and sauté another 3–4 minutes until golden.

  6. Make the mushroom sauce. Pour in the cream and add the bouillon dissolved in water (or use the same volume of stock if you have it). Increase the heat and simmer the sauce for about 5 minutes until it reduces by roughly half and thickens slightly.

  7. Serve. Drain the cooked potatoes. On a plate, serve the pork neck, add the potatoes, and pour the hot mushroom sauce over everything 🍽️✨
