Steps to cook

10 steps · 15 min cook
  1. Prepare the ingredients. This is what will end up on the plate - prepare the ingredients in advance so the work flows smoothly.

  2. Boil the water. Place a pot of water for the gnocchi on the stove and bring it to a boil.

  3. Fry the sausage. Slice the sausage into rounds approximately 2-3 cm thick. In a pan, fry them over medium heat with no or minimal oil until they brown and release fat. Then remove them from the pan and set aside.

  4. Chop the onion. Meanwhile, peel the onion and chop it into small dice. Peel the garlic and slice it thinly.

  5. Sauté the onion. Into the same pan used for the sausage add the onion and garlic. If the pan is dry, add a little vegetable oil. Sauté over medium heat until the onion softens and begins to lightly brown.

  6. Cook the gnocchi. Salt the boiling water in the pot and add the gnocchi. Cook until they float to the surface, about 2 minutes.

  7. Combine the ingredients. Return the fried sausage to the pan, add the cooked gnocchi and a small amount of the water they cooked in to form a light sauce. Simmer everything briefly for 1-2 minutes.

  8. Add the beans. Add the beans and let them heat through briefly.

  9. Season. Add salt, pepper, lemon juice and grated lemon zest. Optionally add chopped parsley and adjust seasoning to taste.

  10. Serve. Divide the finished dish among plates and garnish with torn parsley.
