Steps to cook
-
Prepare the ingredients. This is what awaits on the plate – prepare the ingredients in advance so the work goes smoothly 🍅🧄🥣
-
Slice the onion. Slice the onion into thin slices.
-
Slice the garlic. Slice the peeled garlic as thinly as possible.
-
Sauté the onion and garlic. Heat the oil in a pot or saucepan over medium heat and sauté the onion for about 2–3 minutes, until it begins to soften and become translucent. Then add the garlic and sauté for another about 2 minutes, until fragrant but not browned.
-
Add the tomatoes and beans. Add the canned tomatoes and beans, stir everything and simmer for about 5 minutes over low to medium heat. Season with salt, pepper and optionally a pinch of sugar to balance the acidity.
-
Finish the ragout. Divide the ragout into bowls, tear the mozzarella on top and optionally add basil leaves 🧀🌿
-
Serve. Serve the finished ragout immediately, ideally with fresh bread or as a standalone main course 🍽️
