Mushroom sauce with potatoes

A creamy mushroom sauce served with boiled potatoes. A simple but very popular homemade dish.

What you will need

Champignons 125 g -
Potatoes 250 g -
Onion 0.5 pcs -
Milk 100 ml

Butter 0.5 tbsp -
Plain Flour 0.5 tbsp -
Vegetable oil 0.25 tbsp

Steps to cook

Prepare the ingredients. Prepare all the ingredients and lay them out on the work surface - we will cook step by step from them πβπ«π₯

Cut the potatoes. Peel the potatoes and cut them into smaller pieces.

Cook the potatoes. Put the potatoes to boil in salted water and cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes, until tender.

Cut the onion. Cut the onion into small dice.

Cut the mushrooms. Clean the mushrooms and cut them into slices.

Fry the mushrooms. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat, add the mushrooms, season with salt and pepper, and fry for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown, then set them aside.

Saute the onion. Add the butter and onion to the same pan and saute over low heat for about 5 minutes, until softened.

Saute the flour. Add the flour and, stirring constantly, saute it over medium heat for about 1 minute.

Make the sauce. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring constantly, and cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, until the sauce thickens.

Finish the sauce. Return the mushrooms to the sauce and briefly simmer over low heat for about 1 minute more.

Serve. Serve with boiled potatoes π½οΈβ¨
