Steps to cook
-
Prepare all ingredients. Prepare all the ingredients – we'll be cooking with them in a moment 🥔✨
-
Slice the potatoes. Peel the potatoes and slice them into rounds about 1 cm thick; peel the garlic and cut it into thin strips.
-
Fry the bacon. Fry the bacon in a pan for about 3–4 minutes over medium heat until golden, then set it aside (do not discard the rendered fat, we'll need it).
-
Add lard and fry the potatoes. Add a little lard to the drippings and fry the potatoes in it for about 5 minutes on each side over low heat, until they are tender and golden. Season with salt and pepper.
-
Add the garlic, bacon and cheese. When the potatoes are nicely browned, add the garlic, the fried bacon and the grated cheese. Mix thoroughly and, once the cheese has melted, remove from the heat.
-
Serve. Serve and enjoy the dish 🍽️✨
