Steps to cook

  1. Prepare the ingredients. This is what will be on your plate - prepare the ingredients ahead of time so the work goes smoothly 🥬🔪

  2. Slice the sausage. Cut the sausage into rounds of approximately even thickness so they brown evenly.

  3. Prepare the onion. Peel the red onion and dice it into small cubes.

  4. Slice the garlic. Peel the garlic and slice it thinly.

  5. Prepare the potatoes. Peel the potatoes and cut them lengthwise into halves or quarters according to their size so they cook evenly.

  6. Chop the cabbage. Cut the cabbage into quarters, separate the layers to make it easier to handle, then slice into strips.

  7. Brown the sausage. Heat oil or lard in a pot over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook for a few minutes until it begins to brown and releases fat.

  8. Sauté the vegetables. Add the onion to the pot and sauté about 2 minutes until softened. Then add the garlic and sauté another 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Finally add the potatoes and toss briefly with the other ingredients.

  9. Season. Salt and pepper everything, add ground paprika, and pour in bouillon dissolved in water or stock if you have it. There should be enough liquid to mostly cover the ingredients.

  10. Add the cabbage and cook. Add the sliced cabbage and cook over low to medium heat for about 12 minutes, until the potatoes and cabbage are tender.

  11. Serve. Divide the finished dish into bowls or deep plates and serve immediately 🍲✨
