Steps to cook
-
Prepare the ingredients. This is what will be on your plate – two-colored quark wreaths with cocoa and almonds; prepare your ingredients in advance so the work goes smoothly 🍩🔥 Preheat the oven to 170 °C.
-
Beat the base. Place softened butter, sugar and eggs into a bowl (it's better to beat the eggs with the sugar first) and beat until a smooth, fluffy mixture forms.
-
Add the quark. Add the quark and mix thoroughly until a uniform mass forms.
-
Work the dough. Add the baking powder and mix.
-
Divide the dough. Divide the dough into two halves, add flour to each, and work cocoa into one portion.
-
Form the logs. Divide both doughs into equal portions (if the dough is too soft, work in a little more flour) and shape each into long logs.
-
Twist the wreaths. Twist one light and one dark log together and join into a circle. The dough softens quickly, so work fast
-
Bake the wreaths. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with beaten egg and bake for about 25 minutes until golden.
-
Serve. Let cool and serve 🍽️✨
