Steps to cook

9 steps · 21 min cook
  1. Prepare the ingredients and preheat the oven. Prepare all the ingredients, line a baking sheet with baking paper, and preheat the oven to 175 C 🍪✨

  2. Mix the ingredients. Add the flour, sugar, and cocoa to a bowl, add the softened butter and vanilla sugar, mix, and add the milk one spoonful at a time until a compact dough forms.

  3. Work the dough and chill. Work the dough into a smooth, non-sticky dough and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

  4. Shape into cylinders. Shape the chilled dough into 12 small cylinders and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

  5. Shape the fingers. Lightly press each cylinder in two places with your finger and use a toothpick to make grooves so they resemble finger joints.

  6. Add the almonds and bake. Press half an almond onto the end of each finger as a nail and bake in the oven at 175 C for about 15 minutes until golden.

  7. Create a realistic look. For a more realistic look, after baking peel the almond (if it is unpeeled), put a little red currant jam under the nail, and press the almond back on.

  8. Finish the decoration. You can lightly dip the ends of the fingers in jam for a blood effect.

  9. Serve. Serve on a plate with jam in the middle 🍽️✨
